Hone Your Craft. Change the Game.

Skill Board is the perfect tool to complement your Hockey training

This video is an overview of some of the workouts you can use with Skill Board to improve your balance, core strength, agility, body awareness, and more—both on and off the ice.

Improve Your Game with Hockey-Specific Workouts

1. Standing Up

Stand on the board while holding your hockey stick. Notice how holding the stick changes your center of gravity. Harder than it looks!

2. Slow Sweeps

Keeping your head down, sweep your stick side to side in small motions. Become comfortable with holding the stick while balancing.

3. Wide Sweeps

Pivot your body to make wider sweeps on the ground, as if you were on the ice. This will begin to engage your core.

4. Three-Point Sweep

A variation of the Wide Sweep, move the stick from side to side, adding a stop in the center.

5. Forward-Backward

Bring your stick in to your body, then extend it outwards, as if you were capturing a puck.

6. More Stickhandling

Practice your stickhandling skills as you'd like. Rotating and raising your stick are both challenging workouts.

7. Dribbling

Using a tennis ball, practice your dribbling skills. Start with small motions and advance to wider moves when you feel ready.

8. Head Up

Repeat the previous exercises, this time lifting your gaze and looking straight ahead. You might be surprised how much harder this makes it!

9. Take a Shot!

Lifting your stick, imagine you are shooting on a goal. You're well on your way to becoming a hockey champion!

The Skill Board is a game-changing balance board that will help you build functional balance. Challenge your core strength and balance in a full 360° range of motion to deliver incremental balance training that scales with your skill. Because the Skill Board balances on an inflatable ball, riders control the difficulty themselves by inflating or deflating the ball, ensuring it’s never too tough or too easy.

Click the buttons below to learn more.

The smooth board was designed to be used barefoot, while the grip board is meant to be used with shoes. The grip tape can be a little too rough for some riders' bare feet. The bundle package comes with a smooth board and stick-it-yourself grip tape, so you can decide which option is best for you.

Included in the Beginner to Pro Bundle is everything you’ll need to master the Skill Board, even if you have no experience on a balance board. Start with the stationary Wobble Cushion, which will let you get a feel for the Skill Board’s 360° range of motion. Once you’re comfortable with how the board moves, up the ante with the Small Ball with low PSI. Keep challenging yourself on the Small Ball, and, with practice, you’ll be a pro before you know it.

The bundle also includes a drawstring travel bag for improving your balance on the go and our Floor Savers which will help you ride on hard surfaces without damaging the board or flooring.
